a two-hour drive to beautiful Santa Barbara, the first impression
I had when I went |

into the Maes Center was the overwhelming feeling of peacefulness.
I felt that I was in the right place..."at home"...in
my journey down the road to better health.
The positive serenity was further enhanced during my appointment
with Dr. Maes who is totally focused on you, the patient,
and your individual health needs. His ability to discern cause
and effect and to "connect the dots" is amazing! Using
several coordinated diagnostic approaches, including NAET,
Dark-field Microscopy, etc., he connected my chronic dental
issues (which I thought had been put to rest) with the new and scary
cardiovascular problems I was experiencing in addition to
my usual plethora of digestive issues.
Within two months time, the prescribed homeopathic remedies had
gently done their jobs, with no side effects, and the cardiovascular
issues were under control. Metabolic Typing enabled
Dr. Maes to prescribe the appropriate supplements and diet for me,
now focusing on the digestive issues at hand.
The experiences of having several immediate answers and approaches
to well-being, without extensive off-site testing, waiting for results,
etc., is very encouraging. I am looking forward to continuing
my journey to better health with the positive guidance and caring

of the summer of 1998, I found myself very anxious and nervous,
and somewhat |

depressed. I had become very intolerant to many foods,
and the foods left that I could eat I could put on one hand.
To make matters worse, I had contracted a pseudamonus
infection on both legs that 3 straight months of antibiotics
with terrible side effects had failed to improve. I
was at my lowest point in my life health wise, and even though
I live in Santa Maria, through the strong recommendation of
an acquaintance and also out of desperation, I decided to
give the Maes Center for Natural Health Care a try after having
lost all confidence in western medicine.
What I found at the Maes Center for Natural Health Care was
not only a caring staff that made you feel “at home” the minute
you came in the door, but a doctor who actually listened to
me, and was most reassuring that my body could indeed heal
itself. Soon, I started to believe that, too! After
a thorough history, I was prescribed a daily homeopathic remedy
to balance my emotions, as well as a homeopathic liquid that
I was to put on my pseudamonus infection. I thought
to myself that was too easy and couldn't possibly work.
But within several weeks, the infection was completely gone!
Dr. Maes explained that my immune system needed to be strengthened
as well, so all that was prescribed for me worked to that
end, including metabolic blood typing which outlines the foods
suitable for my metabolism, as well as muscle testing to find
where a problem exists and to pin point which vitamins and
minerals your body needs. It was explained to me that
the homeopathics and naturopathics worked through a process,
and slowly but surely the body works to rebalance itself.
Now I am happy to report that I am able to eat everything
without concern about food reactions. I am certainly a more
calm person, not nervous and anxious anymore. Another
benefit that I receive by going to the Maes Center For Natural
Health Care is the use of the Darkfield microscope that allows
me to see my own blood on a TV screen while Dr. Maes evaluates
it, prescribing only the vitamins, minerals, homeopathics
or naturopathics that your body actually needs for optimum
balance. It is so comforting to know that a place such
as the Maes Center For Natural Health Care exists within Santa
Barbara county, and I feel so fortunate to be able to call
Dr. Maes.

I recommend going to Dr. Maes and this
is why:
First of all, when he's adjusting you,
he talks to you so that
you don't feel any pain.
This is my opinion, but it feels really
good when you stand
up after he adjusts you. When he's done, you feel looser,
stronger and just plain better!
One of the funniest parts is when he
takes different kinds of
remedies and puts them on your stomach and does muscle
tests, which are fun and kind of weird to do.
I think, if you're going to go to
any chiropractor or
homeopath, you should DEFINITELY go to Dr. Luc Maes.
Dr. Maes and his wife, Barbara, are
very nice and, I think,
funny people.
